Gift to Memorial University made by Students from NAC's Sanatuliqsarvik in Rankin Inlet
Iqaluit, Nunavut (November 28, 2019) – Memorial University unveils gift from NAC made by the Sanatuliqsarvik Students.
After the NAC-MUN MOU Signing Ceremony, which took place on November 8th in Iqaluit, NAC presented a special gift to Memorial University which was made by our students in Sanatuliqsarvik (Nunavut Trades Training Centre) in Rankin Inlet.
The gift is a stretched “polar bear hide-inspired” screen surrounded by traditional Inuit hunting tools, and one Qilaut in each top corner with both NAC and MUN’s logos. The screen was shipped to St. John’s, NL in pieces and was assembled at Memorial University. The gift was then formally unveiled at a small ceremony with some of NAC and MUN’s Staff.
Congratulations to our talented students from Sanatuliqsarvik for their high quality craftmanship and creativity and congratulations to the instructors for their support as well as overseeing the project.
