Congratulations to Nicole Howmik Alagalak, new Manager of Finance.

Nunavut Arctic College is proud to announce the appointment of Nicole Howmik Alagalak as Manager of Finance for Nunavut Arctic College, based in Arviat. She was appointed on August 1st, 2018, after completing her (3) year internship under the GN Sivuliqtiksat Internship Program, which started on March 2015.

Prior to her work as Manager of Finance Intern, she worked at the college as a PASS instructor, Divisional Secretary, Data Entry and Accounts Services Clerk. Nicole has also held several positions such as Financial Analyst, Administrative Assistant, and Child and Youth Outreach, for the Department of Family Services. She also worked at the Hamlet of Arviat, Larry and Sons Construction, and Department of Education.

“I have worked with Nunavut Arctic College as a casual employee in different departments in previous years and have grown to like the working environment with the college. Employees are always and have always been willing to assist when requested. When an opportunity opened with NAC for the Manager, Finance intern position, I just had to apply and hope for the best and now here I am, doing what I love doing – which is working in an accounting/finance field!” - Nicole Alagalak

Nicole is from Arviat and attended the Management Studies Diploma Program at Nunavut Arctic College in Rankin Inlet. She enjoys going for long walks, playing music, ice fishing, traveling and sewing.

NAC is proud to have Nicole as Manager of Finance and we celebrate with her this accomplishment.
