Housing Maintainer, 1-year Diploma
This introductory Housing Maintainer program is a multi-disciplinary program that aims to give learners the knowledge, skills and confidence required to enter into an Apprenticeship program as a Housing Maintainer or to pursue other Nunavut Arctic College Programs.
Learners will train with a variety of tools, techniques, and materials in well-equipped shops. Trades-related Math, Science and Communications form a significant part of the curriculum. The program’s academic and technical training ensures learners are able to apply theoretical knowledge to practical application.
carpenter, 1-Year Diploma
This introductory Carpenter Program is a multi-disciplinary program that aims to give learners the skills, knowledge, and confidence required to proceed with an Apprenticeship in the Carpentry trade.
A strong emphasis on safety, including the WSCC 'Go Safe' and St John First Aid certifications, prepares the learners to train with a variety of tools, techniques, and materials in well-equipped shops as they complete the Level 1 Carpentry Apprenticeship theory. Maintenance Management Operating System, and Trades-related Math, Science and Communication form a significant part of the curriculum. The program's academic and technical training ensures learners are able to apply theoretical knowledge to practical application.
Oil Heat Systems Technician (formerly Oil Burner Mechanic), 1-year Diploma
This introductory Oil Heat Systems Technician program is a multi-disciplinary course that aims to give learners the knowledge, skills and confidence to enter into an Apprenticeship as an Oil Burner Mechanic or to pursue other Nunavut Arctic College Programs.
